"Sea Troll", Oil on canvas, 18" x 24", 2021. Sea Troll was inspired by Scandinavian folklore and my long fascination with creatures that lurk at the edge of human knowledge. I placed the "troll" to emerge from the mists at the edge of the black sand shore. What interested me was the moment of transition - the passage from the unknown into the known. The "creature" is neither fully revealed nor wholly concealed, but caught between worlds, crossing the threshold where mystery begins to take shape. 

"Dark Castle", oil on canvas. 16" x 20", 2021. Dark Castle emerged from my fascination with forgotten places and the stories they seem to hold. Rising from the shadowed landscape beneath a brooding sky, the castle appears both imposing and abandoned, a monument to a past that can no longer be fully known. I was drawn to the tension between history and imagination - the sense that every ruined tower and darkened window might conceal a legend, a tragedy, or a secret waiting to be rediscovered. The painting invites the viewer to stand at the edge of that mystery and wonder what lies beyond the walls. 

"Cave Knight," oil on panel. 16" x 20", 2020. Cave Knight explores the archetype of the solitary hero venturing into the unknown. Climbing the threshold between light and darkness, the knight embodies both courage and uncertainty. I am interested in capturing that moment before a decision is made, when the path ahead is hidden and the outcome remains unwritten. The cave becomes more than a place - it becomes a symbol of every mystery that calls us forward despite our fears. 

"Ambush", oil on canvas. 18" x 24", 2023. In Ambush, I seek to capture the tension of a story unfolding in a single moment. Hidden dangers lie just beyond sight, and the stillness of the scene is charged with the possibility of sudden action. The painting draws upon the timeless themes of adventure and peril found in myth, folklore, and fantasy, inviting the viewer to imagine both what has happened and what is about to occur.  

"Hope: Kraken," oil on canvas. 16" x 16". 2021. The Kraken has long symbolized overwhelming forces lurking beyond the horizon of human experience. In this painting, however, the creature is not simply an object of fear. The work explores the idea that hope can endure even in the presence of immense uncertainty. What seems monstrous from a distance may also represent the unknown possibilities that challenge us to grow. 

"Hope: Chimera," oil on canvas. 16" x 16", 2021. The Chimera, assembled from disparate creatures, has traditionally been a symbol of impossibility and contradiction. In this painting, I am interested in the possibility that hope often emerges from unlikely combinations: courage and doubt, loss and renewal, imagination and reality. The Chimera becomes a reminder that new possibilities are often born from unexpected unions. 

"Hope: Basilisk," oil on canvas. 16" x 16", 2021. Legends describe the Basilisk as a creature whose gaze brings destruction, yet this painting asks whether hope can survive even under the shadow of fear. I am drawn to the tension between menace and resilience. The work suggests that hope is not the absence of danger, but the determination to look beyond it. 

"Fog Castle," oil on canvas. 16" x 20", 2021. In Fog Castle, the landscape conceals as much as it reveals. The castle emerges only partially from the drifting mist, suspended between presence and absence. I am fascinated by the way fog transforms familiar places into mysteries, inviting the imagination to fill the spaces that cannot be clearly seen. The painting reflects the moment when the world feels larger and more unknowable than usual. 

"Cold Castle," oil on canvas. 16" x 20", 2021. Cold Castle was inspired by the stark beauty of winter and the quiet endurance of ancient stone. The castle stands against the elements, weathered but unbroken, a witness to passing centuries. I want to evoke a sense of isolation and permanence, where the chill of the landscape heightens the impression of history lingering within the walls. 

"Tintern Abbey," oil on canvas. 16" x 20", 2023. Tintern Abbey reflects my admiration for places where history and nature intertwine. The ruined abbey speaks of lives, beliefs, and aspirations that have faded into the past, while the surrounding landscape continues to grow and change. I am drawn to the contrast between the permanence of stone and the relentless passage of time, creating a scene that invites contemplation and reflection.

"Sepia Knight," oil on canvas. 30" x 40", 2021. The muted tones of Sepia Knight were chosen to evoke a feeling of an old memory or a fragment of a forgotten tale. The knight appears as a figure from another age, suspended between history and legend. I am interested in the way stories endure long after the details have been lost, leaving behind only echoes of courage, duty, and adventure.
